Loop Lab Busan, an innovative media art festival emerging from Loop Barcelona—the world’s first artists’ film and video art fair—will make its international debut in Busan, South Korea. Anchored in Busan’s dynamic blend of culture and technology, the festival reflects the city’s spirit of innovation and artistic vibrancy.
Following the footsteps of Loop Barcelona, Loop Lab Busan features three core programs—Exhibition, Forum, and Art Fair—designed to explore digital and media art, emphasising sustainability, independence, and leadership in the art world.
The Loop Lab Busan Fair will be held from April 24th to 26th at the Grand Josun Busan Hotel, showcasing a mix of international and local galleries from Barcelona, Busan, Berlin, Istanbul, London, New York and Seoul, among others. Drawing inspiration from the distinctive format and ethos of its Barcelona counterpart, the fair’s hotel-room setting offers an intimate, immersive experience that transforms the traditional exhibition model into a space for direct engagement.
Load is proud to participate as the youngest of the selected galleries and to exhibit alongside some of Barcelona’s most established spaces, including Galeria Senda, àngels barcelona, and Galeria Mayoral. With a focus on new media and digital art, Load brings to the fair the work of internationally recognised, Barcelona-based artist Ezequiel Pini (Six N. Five), regarded as a pioneer of 3d animation. Pini's refined visual language, recognisable aesthetics and unique position at the intersection of digital art, design, and technology made him one of the most regarded digital artists and a role model for the younger generation of 3d animators. The gallery will present the artist’s latest body of work, Species, a two-minute film which continues Six N. Five’s exploration of imagined ecologies and speculative futures through meticulously rendered digital landscapes. The work premiered at the inauguration of Load gallery in 2024.

Loop Barcelona, founded in 2003, has been a leading platform for the study and promotion of the moving image for over 20 years. Globally recognized for its role in advancing time-based media art and fostering international collaborations, it serves as a meeting point that brings together a specialized community in Barcelona each year to discover, enjoy, and reflect on the latest trends in the field.
