Neo Botanica. An Atlas of Artificially Generated Flora

Monica Rizzolli is a Brazilian generative artist and creative coder who uses an ecological approach to art-making, viewing humans, art, and code as components of nature. Initially a painter, she transitioned to generative art, developing her skills independently after discovering creative coding in 2012.

Rizzolli's work, often featuring botanical motifs and landscape animations, has been exhibited internationally, including at LACMA and the MAK Center. As a designer, she collaborated on generative magazine covers, fabric designs, and typefaces with Tony de Marco, including Tomorrow for Google Fonts. Her 2021 release the Fragments of an Infinite Field on the Art Blocks platform and her co-founding of the Noite de Processing coding event further solidified her position in the generative field.
