YonkersVidal’s work as an artist involves orchestrating chemical reactions and capturing them on film to create intricate visual worlds that ignite curiosity, allure, and intrigue. Each sequence begins with a burst of colours and movement, transitioning into a slower phase that allows viewers to contemplate its gradual decay.

In this exhibition, titled Lilas, YonkersVidal unveils a body of work created from a specific combination of chemicals. Variations in the order of mixing them yield different rhythms and hues. While some artworks might appear static, they are subtly moving, consuming themselves at their own pace.

An important aspect of YonkersVidal’s work is the imperfection of the process, which brings a unique and random value to each piece. Embracing this reality, the artist aims for honesty in the work, fostering a genuine connection with the viewer.

The exhibition is accompanied by music specifically composed for the project by Mathieu Charbonneau. The audio landscape embodies the same values as the images, offering viewers a complete and immersive experience.
