Nkechi brings together works created between 2019 and 2025, in which Osinachi pushes the boundaries of Microsoft Word’s vector tools to construct an expansive, continuous narrative. Moving through domestic interiors, Afrofuturist visions, and playful landscapes of leisure, the works explore vulnerability, cultural memory, family, and imagined futures.

The exhibition takes its title from Nkechi (2025), a prophetic work imagining a future in which robots have become deeply integrated into human society. Inspired by the Mona Lisa, the portrait depicts a machine that has moved beyond its role as a tool or servant to become an irreplaceable member of a family. The act of commissioning this portrait becomes a symbol of ultimate privilege, suggesting that the robot has transcended mere utility to become an irreplaceable family member whose memory, like that of an ancestor, is worthy of being immortalized in art.

Throughout the selection, isolated figures inhabit quiet interiors, speculative environments, and scenes of everyday life. Osinachi’s signature pixelated digital fills turn the familiar patterns of office software into representations of Black skin and an exploration of vulnerability. Traditional dress and maternal care sit alongside science-fiction environments, while childhood and Nigerian popular culture appear within landscapes shaped by Western cinematic references. Through these works, past and present meet through new tools and artistic forms, opening onto possible futures.
