Osinachi

Osinachi (b. 1991, Aba, Nigeria) is a pioneering Nigerian digital artist whose practice transforms the ordinary constraints of Microsoft Word into a vibrant, unconventional canvas. Entirely self-taught, he has spent nearly two decades developing a distinctive visual language within this unlikely medium, using it to construct figurative works that explore identity, race, sexuality, and the lived realities of contemporary African experience.

Based in Lagos, Osinachi began his creative journey in writing before expanding into visual art, a transition that continues to inform the narrative depth and conceptual clarity of his work. He approaches digital art as a form of cultural intervention—an assertion that existence itself can be a protest against the stereotypes, prejudices, and structural inequalities that shape life across the African continent and diaspora. His work challenges the conventional notions of art and technology, inviting viewers to question their own assumptions and perspectives.

In 2024, MIPAD recognised him as one of the most influential people of African descent; two years earlier, New African magazine included him among the 100 Most Influential Africans.
